Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and routine blood tests. Our practice nurses are very experienced and run clinics for patients with long-term health conditions such as asthma, copd (emphysema and bronchitis) and diabetes.  They also provide a travel advice and vaccination service. (Please see Travel Vaccination section for further information).  Our nurses also perform cervical smears.
Mrs Brenda Fleming (f)

Brenda Fleming RMN, PGD in CBT and groupwork.

Brenda is our Mental Health Nurse working within Park Avenue Medical Practice on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Brenda will see patients who are over 18 and not already under mental health or addiction services, for the following reasons:

* stress/anxiety/panic

* low mood/depression

* bereavement/grief

* crisis intervention/ suicidal

* anti-depressant medication reviews

If you fall into any of the above categories, you can make an appointment by calling the surgery and speaking to a receptionist.  Your G.P may also refer you Brenda if appropriate.

Mrs Isabel O'Brien (f)

Isabel is starting with Park Avenue as a Advanced Nurse Practitioner on 12th of August 2019.

She will be dealing with minor illnesses such as chest infection, ear infections urinary tract infections etc.

Mrs Tracey Nowosad (f)

Tracey is trained in:

* Phlebotomy (taking bloods)

* Injections (flu, pneumo, shingles, B12)

* Blood pressure checks (including contraceptive and hypertension reviews)

* Ear examinations (confirming if wax present)

She is also trained in various other associated tasks such as reviews and new patient checks.
